The Newcastle Lionettes met on Thursday evening at the home of director Irene Cunningham. At his meeting they had an election of officers for 1975-76. Committee Opposed To LLBO Outiet Across From Clark e High Sehool Newcastle Conmmittee of the Whole made a recommenda- tion to council that the Liquor License Board of Ontario be advised that council is op- posed to a liquor outiet at theý Forum Restaurant on Hwy. 115 and 35,,and that a copy of this resolution and the ac- companing correspondence be sent to the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Ed- ucation, the two parliament members in this area, the local chambers of commerce, The Great Pine Ridge Tourist Association, and the minister- ial association. The Forum Restaurant which is located across from Clarke High School, has made application to the LLBO for a license, having submitted plans to them as to what renovations would be done to attain this license. The cor- respondence received by the Committee of the Whole was from the LLBO. The motion was passed with two dissenting votes. Council- lor Don Wearn and Don Allun voted against the motion on the grounds that council didn't know what they were oppos- ing. An eariier motion by Counillor Wearn stated that a recommendation be sent 'o council asking the LLBO to send plans that were submit- ted to LLBO to councîl 50 that they could comment. Also that the Forum Restaurant make an application by submitting OBITUARY ELIZABETH ANN MePHAIL KING Blessed with great spirit, cheerfulness, and willingness to help others, Elizabeth Ann McPhail King, aged 76, passed away in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, on Saturdày, January 4, 1975,ý following a lengthy illness. Born and educated in Well- ington, Quay, Northumber- land, England, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Poolton. In 1916 she was married to Benjamen Thompson'King,, residing on High and Elgin Streets in Bowmanville. A: member of St. John's Anglican Church, the Ladies Le gion Auxiliary, and the Rebekah Beehive Lodge she leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter Gladys, (Mrs. Ar- thur' Etcher), a son John, one grandson and five grand- daughters. Reverend Thomas Gracie officiated at the funeral serv- ice held on Tuesday, at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Pail-bearers were Messrs.
