DON STURROCK - son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sturrock, a former member of Bowmanville Red Eagles Jr. C hockey team, of Owen Sound Junior B club, will leave for the Chicago Black Hawk training camp, on September 24th. TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS- were held on, Sunday, at the Bowmanville Tennis Club with the men's doubles winners - Chris Terhune and Don Bradley; mixed doubles - Jane and Don Bradley; and ladies' doubles - Jane Bradley and Nancy Jackman. The, single champion- ships will be played at a later date. Congratula- tions to the champions. The club has enjoyed a most successful season, with many new mem- bers joining. SOFTBALL - championship games are in action at Civic Fields, Oshawa, with the Canadian titie the goal. 13 teams are competing and a trip to New Zealand for the 1976 World Championship as well as the Canadian Championship titie goes to the winner. Bey Smith will entertain fans during the tournament on a $7,000 organ. A beer tent is set up, and the whole event's proceeds will be used to finance a Softball Hall of Fame in Oshawa. Opening game was last Sunday at 9 a.m., with the final Saturday, August 30 at 10 a.m. Better hop over to Civic, that's where the action is this week.
