He not only pitched fine bal throughout the season and the piayoffs, but for a pitcher to win the award for the most runs batted in is most unusual. Then, in the final game, he smashed the home run'that won the pennant for the Fuelers. It's littie wonder he won the MVP trophy. TYKE BASEBALL - Orono Tykes defeated New- castle in the finals of their league last Saturday and this week the girls hold their finals at Memorial Park. The weather was not the best on Saturday, with frequent showers delaying events, but they managed to get the games completed and the crests presented. The champions are shown here with their crests, front row, lef t to right, Robert Hannam, Donnie Stevens, Paul Lane, Batboy Mike Lane, Jeff Gray, Shawn Robinson and Steven Sawyer; back row, Coach Kelly Lane, Wayne Zoschke, Steven Graham, Paul Reed, Craig Power, Mike Vooys, Scott Richards, William VanSeggelen and Coach Earl Stevens; absent, Cecil Knapp and Bruce Knapp. North America Champs with Their Troph les Recently, the many trophies won by Greg Cox and passenger Bill Davidson were put on display in Hooper's Trophy window. Here, the winners who are North American champions posed in front of the window in their racing garb, on their Kawasaki motorcycle. They have at least two more races this season in the United States and will probably have more trophies to add to their olection. If they could find a sponsor, they would like to head for Europe, where they would face even stiffer competition than they have here. Men'sSoftball League Holds Award Banquet Saturday, September 13, marked the night for the presentation of trophies and awards concluding the Men's Softbali year. Bob Wlliams, coach for Stephen Fuels, received the Hoopers Jewellery Trophy for Lcague etiampions. Bob Tugwood of Frank's Variety faîne,ý took two awards, the M.V.P. award and the Chartrans Trophy for the batting champion. The pitching trophy went to Bill Cochrane also of Frank's Variety. Jim Ryhorchuk from Step- hen Fuels team came away with the most home runs trophy. The most R.B.1. and Most Valuable player trophies in. playoffs were won by Terry Baker who pitched Stephen Fuels to their championship victory. A new trophy donated this year by Tim's Rent-All was awarded to the player who is the most versatile, and select- cd by the executive members was presented to Len Kenny oi Kramp's. Furniture team. Folîowing the presentations a new executive was selected f'or the 1975-76 season: Presi- dent Bernie O'Kccfe, Vice- President Brian (Doc) Adams and Sccrctary-Treasurer Anne Meck (women's lih.).
