The cbildren's story was an ideal lesson for all that te achieve the best in life and arrive on time it is wise to begin early as there may be "nel second chance" as the tardy little boy Jimmy almost experienced at his school. Our minister 's superlative sermon was based on the Angel's message to the world recorded in John 1:1-14 viz: "Peace on Earth,". Rev. Bigby stated that the word peace though overworked can ierpreted in various ways, e.g. Oid testament meaning was calmness of, seul, person- ai and social well1-being springing from trust, obedi- ence an harmony with God. New testament means mercy, freedom, relief from bondage. He continued te say the Bible and World Meanings of Peace differ, i.e. Woridly peace is man made and embraces self-interest, self concern, but success comes with Peace of God in self-sur- render te God and humility before God. Bible Peace means deliverance from self and Peace is achieved only when we change te the Bible meaning'and as we make our own peace with God we become pence makers to the Glory ofet * Meta Read officiated at the Hammond organ, in the ab- sence of Ulah Chambers, whose music was appreciated sincereiy. Ail of the classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6 took part in the two hour concert whiCh featured various skits and songs. Unfortunately Mrs. Creighton, their music teacher, had another concert to supervise that night and her rich talents were missed, but her musical role was filled by Mrs. Polak, Mrs. Ingrahamn and two parents, Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Johnson. Many other parents helped with a myriad of other details to contribute to a successful evening. The man himself even made an appearance -- yes, none other than Santa Claus! -M
