President John Muha said 'when we took the show over it was feit that a new name would be in order to reflect the much wider range of the exhibition this year. The old name did seem to indicate an Oshawa boundary. But there are many more people resident in the area surround- ing Oshawa. We feel that the show wiii appeal to that segment of the population as well as Oshawa, as it is intended to reflect the Dur- ham region as a whoie rather than just a portion of it' is appreciably more diversified than it has been in the past. Coached by Marilyn Sav- age, Canadian Olympie Team coach in 1968 and 1972, the Winstonettes will perform their exhibition program at the McDonald Ford booth. McDonald Ford are co-spons- oring the special appearance together with show organ- isers. The County Town Singers will also appear at the show. Formed in 1967,, they have been called 'the singing ambassadors'. In 1974, the Singers travelled and per- formed throughout Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. They have also appear- ed at Ontario Place and the Lions International Con- vention in Miami. Ted Curi, of Whitby, will puzzle the crowds with his magie act. Mr. Curi was Master of Ceremonies at the recent Sportsman's Show in Toronto, and is well known throughout the region. Walter Beath, Chairman of Durham Region, will officiate at the opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. on April 23rd, though the show will open at 1 p.m. the same day. Mr. Beath will be aCCOMDanied by Miss Little Ex, Cathy Dillon and by O0shawa's Timmy for 1976. Oshawa Mayor James Pot- ticary will-at that time make the draws for the major prizes to. be awarded. Among these will be a trip for two, al expenses paid, to the Ba- hamas. Other prizes include an automatie dishwasher, the use of a Ford -Pinto or Mustang, courtesy of MacDonald Ford, plus door prizes draws every hour during the show. The show hours are 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Sunday. On Satur- day it will open at il a.m. Royal Liîppi%îzan Stall Retrnsf0 Oshawa The annual tour of the wonderful world of horses featuring The Royal Lipizzan Stallion Show plays at the Civic Auditorium in Oshawa' on April 29th. More than 20 of the rare and noble Lipizzaners will perform their classical sehool movements in a two hour presentation of spectac-- ular new acts and impressive production numbers. The performance will include a complete, authentic program of Lipizzaner move- ments. Bred in the l6th, century for, the use of the Hapsburgs, the royal family of Austria, the Lipizzaners- are Final Jamboree The Orono Jamboree was a huge success on Sunday, April 4th when approximately 450 country music fans attended, to see and hear 15 different artists as well as the house band of The Country Hits with Fay, Glory and Don Adams, Len Somerscales, Joe Howe and Rod Craig. The highlight of the show was when "Buck and Barney" from Gopher Gultch appeared to do their anticsof comedy. This thrilled the young and the old. This show endedthe season for the Orono Country Jam- borees and the performers from the shows deserve a great deal of credit for their time and effort involved., "Hats off to the flouse band and the artists" of the "Orono Country Jamboree"..
