Foster and Miss Catherine Stewart were, in Woodstock and London a couple of days last week visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Fonk and family of Woodstock and Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Brown and family of London. Mr. and Mrs. R. Elliott spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Elliott and family at Maple Leaf. Mr. an-d Mrs. Jim Little and family of Oshawa were wîth bis parents Mr. and Mrs.Roy Little on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Fonk and family spent the weekend with hier mother, Mr. W.H. Foster and attended the Kendal Jamboree where Judy and Donald were taking part in the program. Mr. and Mrs. Garlai.d Cathcart, Mr., Arthur Thomp- son, Miss C. Stewart and Mrs. W.H. Foster attended Orono UCW meeting last Thursday eengwhere Mr. and Mrs. Cesan gave a travelogue with pictures on their trip to Astralia and New Zealand. The Kendal Country Jam- boree was a huge success Saturday evening. The school auditorium was packed to the doors. Besides our local mem- bers providing the program a singing group from Brooklin were present. The rhythm band number received extra applause. Mr. Mark, Wagar made a presentation of a plaque to Mrs. Helen Wood in appreciation of her dedication w ork on the music for the Sunday School. Proceeds from the Jamboree went to the Sunday School. There was neither Church Service nor Sunday'Scbool on Sunday morning, it being Shiloh Anniversary, Next Sun- day afternoon will be Kendal Church Anniversary Service a t 2.30 p. m. T!,e guest speaker Rev. David. Spîvey from Newcastle Charge. Special Music by the Male Choir consisting of men from New- tonville, Shîloh and Kendal. WESLE-Y VILLE Neighbours and friends, deeply grieved at the passing of a dear friend, attended the funeral of Mrs. Harold Bar- rowclough in Port Hope on Friday, October 15th, and at the cemetery in Wesleyville. Many of them returned to the home where they were served refreshments bel ore starting back on what was for many, a long, drive home. Th1-at was the -samie eveninig of the Mini-Festival of' Faith in Port Hope, some local UCW members had previous committmients, 50 it was a busy eve7inmg. There hlas been no service ini Welcome, United church for the past two Sundays follow- ing anniversary services on Saturday and turned out a great success, forr prizes had been donated by Councillor Mrs. Ann Cowman, Cliff Byam, John Virtue, Gulf Oil and the ite Assoc. Many famrilies iný the village pitched in wîth prepared food. Fa-miîy skating at Hampton Arena will start around De- cember lst. Anyone interested may get their ticket during the annual meet ing of the Athletic Assoc. this comîng Sunday, October 24th at 7 p.m. in thýep New Hall, tickets will be$2 per famîly or $10 single.
