Next Sunday, Jan. 16th, the Sacrament of Holy Com- munion will be celebrated. The Heart Fund is asking for volunteers to canvass, house to bouse. Hi-C Meeting On Sunday evening, young people 14 years of age and over are invited to come and share in the fun of the Hi-C group. Last Sunday evening, at 7 p.m. the young people made plans for some of their New Year's Events. While we at home enjoyed the Rose Bowl Parade on tele- vision, the Scott's enjoyed it live in Pasadena. They also had a boat tour at San Diego and visited the Zoo there. Word was received here, last week, of the death of a former resident of this village, Mrs. Fred Lewis of Hamilton. She was the former Retta Robinson, who, with her younger sister, Sadie, and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robinson, lived here, many years ago, on Main Street, in the house now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Alldread, and family. Jones, returned home, Wednesday, after having spent an enjoyable Christmas and New Year's holiday, in Edmonton, with Mr. and Mrs. Bud Jones and family. Bud flew east with them, having a business appointment in Montreal. Later he returned to spend the week-end here, with his mother. There were fourteen Wo- men's Institute members pre- sent, Wednesday evening, at the home of Miss Bernice Milligan, where the latter and Mrs. Sharon Buttery staged a demonstration of the Short Course, "Festival of Foods", held in Orono, a short time ago. Each person was given a book which stressed the bene- fits which may be derived from the use of important dairy products, such as milk, cheese, eggs, fruit, etc. The preparations of four different dishes were demonstrated and enjoyed, and at the close, tea and Christmas cake was passed around. Lena and Lloyd Clysdale were our Sunday morning Greeters at the Church door and the choir sang "Love Lifted Me." The theme of Rev. Tizzard's message was "Predictions", and he stressed the fact that the outcome of the latter, for this coming year, depends on our own reactions and whe- ther we strive, earnestly to improve our everyday lives, and help those less fortunate. Several visitors were wel- comed to our service, includ- ing Mr. Bud Jones of Edmon- ton, Mr. and Mrs. Cluney and Mrs. Mary Wade of Barrie. The second pastoral hymn sing was held in Kendal Church, Sunday evening at 7:30 with a good crowd in attendance, and the Wagar family as special guests. Local people attending in- cluded' Mr. and Mrs. S. Lancaster, Mr. andMrs. C. Farrow, Mr. and Mrs. L.
