If so, you would be pleased to hear about the Durham College's first annual Turkey Trot, a fun run to be held on October 15 from the College. The run, sponsored by the College's Applied Arts Division in conjunction with the Oshawa City and Legion Track Club and Oshawa This Week, will be open to the general public for a very small entry fee. Entrants will have a choice of two courses for the Turkey Trot: one of five kilometres S(3.1 miles) and one of 10 Kilometres (6.2 miles). Organizers stress that the Turkey Trot is not a race, and rthat the object- is to involve community residents in a fitness activity. 1"The casual jogger who is running one to two miles on a regular basis can quite readily set a realistic target of finishing the 10 kilometre course", says Rick Kerr, director of the course. "On the other hand, anyon e who has been intending to start jogging now bas an ideal target: begin training now and set a goal of finishing- the shorter (5 kilometre) course ', Kerr adds.
