The committee thanks all those who, attended and assisted. The resuits were most rewarding. On Friday there was a gratifying turn-out for the Pontypool United Church Roast Beef Dinner. A great big thank you is given to ahI those who donated food, help etc. The ladies received a great many compliments on: the dinner. Thore was a momont's excitement in the -- kitchen when someone erred by turning on the aven instead of a burnor. Roasts of beef wrapped in newspaper were pihod in the aven and took fire. The flames were quickly extinguished before any harm was done. It might have been a "Charcoal Beef Dinner." The special Thankoffering Service in Pontypool United Church on Sunday was well attended with ah present enjoying the visiting speaker - Rev. Bevorly Thompson, B.A. M. Div. Rev. Thompson's sermon on "Running the Race" was most interesting and hier musical seloctions- with hier own guitar accom- paniment were beautiful. The- flowers on the altar were placed there by Mrs. Ruth Richardson and famihy in. memory of Tony Richardson.. Chris Dunford and Kevin Bryant took up the offering. On Friday, November 3rd, the Manver's Mens' Hockey league produced two very lop-sided games. In the first game Yehvorton scored. four goals in the first period and nover looked back, trouncing Janetvîllo 10-0. In the second game Pontypool came back from a 5-0 deficit to 5-4 but Peterborough found extra and finished the scoring at 10-4.
