A Wonking- man 's Town" is the title of Maureen Remington's most recent exhibition of paintings to be shown at The Studio Gallery beginning Nov. 3 continuing through to Nov. 24. Remington, in this exhibi- tion, sends out the visual message loud and clear, that Oshawa is not a pretty city. It is, according to the artist, unique and its strength of character lies in its industrial landmarks. The artist sees these landmarks in the dwellings built for and by the "workers" who came to the city fromn all over the world looking for employment and a better way of life. Contained in their dwellings are the reflections of old country ties in religious customs and traditions. The land around the buildings is used to grow food 'and flowers. Maureen Remington is well known and respected in, this, area for her skill with water-- color and her dedication in' preserving on paper and canvas her love of historial buildings in old Clarke Town- ship. She carrnes this dedication' with discipline and sincerity intothiS current exhibition of the downtown core of Old Oshawa. 77 King Street East Bowmanville Values Effective at Bowmanville Store OnIy On the left is Christopher and on the right is Melanie.
