On Monday, Oct. 30, the boys and their, leaders dis- carded their uniforms for1 costumes to celebrate Hallow- e'en, festivities in the Scout Room. Sixty-three boys and seven leaders participated in i the costume parade. The winning resuits were as fol- lows: Beavers lst a robot, David Werheid; 2nd a pirate,i Tommy Hope. Pedwell, a honey bee; 2nd Mrs. J. Miller, Mickey Mouse.,, Ahl costumes were designed i at home by the boys and everyone was a winner in imagination and creatîvity. An expression of gratitude is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Quinney, Mr. Phil Hayman and Mr. Ron Locke for donating their timre for the difficuit task of judging. Also thanks to the Lions' Club for sponsoring the contest and to the Ladies' Scouting Auxiliary for supplying shellouts and serving refreshments. The Ladies' Aux.iliary held their regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs., Anna Coutts. After a brief business session, entertainiment was 1 supplied by Mrs. Beppy Sluy- mers. A film, entitled 'It Hurts Untîl You Cry', proved dram-1 atically interesting to.ail. Wth Remembrance Day on Saturday this year, the boys i were able to attend the Services in uniform. Section News Beavers: Three Beaver Leaders completed their Part 1 Wood Badge training in October. The colony had two ~.great speakers from St. John's Ambulance and a tour to MacDonald's Restaurant as part of their weekly prograin- ming. Cubs: Several Cubs and Leaders attended an outing to the Automotive Museum in Oshawa. Scouts and Venturers: Please save ahi your news- papers as the boys are organizing an upcoming paper drive in December. Social, and Personai Miss Judy Powell, Stayner, enjoyed a f ew days' holiday with hier parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Powell. Miss Barbara Bowman, Sarnia, was a weekend visitor. These meetings are opportunities to discuss and compare the work in various Parishes. At this time of year budgets are being drawn up for presentation at annual meetings in January. The Bazaar of St. George's Young People was very suc- cessful. They did appreciate the great sponsorship of merchants and tradesmen of Bowmanvilie and Newcastle. They are very grateful for help and support from mem- bers of the, Parish. The proceeds wilh go to Youth activity in the Parish. They are preparing to take part in the 11:15 a.m. 'service on Advent Sunday, Dec. 3rd, which will be a new Commun- ion Service with Youth Hymns.
