Happily, no one was hurt and the local stalwarts finished off that series by winning both Saturday's and Sunday's games. They will now meet Midland. Howard Wood Pee Weos Eliminête Trernton Club Advance to Semi-Finals The Bowmanville Howard Wood Minor Pee Wees dispos- ed of Trenton on the weekend, by defeating them 6 - 4 on Saturday in Bowmanville and 5 - 2 on Sunday in Trenton. The Toros will now advance into the Ontario semi-finals. The game played in the Memorial Arena on Saturday night had to be one of the most dramatic seen locally in recent nmemory as it featured an amazing come-from- behind victory by the "'Trans- porters". Bowmanville scored the first goal of the game when Lorne Whitmarsh connected after being set up by Chris Lee and defenceman Pierre St. Amand. The goal came at the 1: 25 mark of the middle period. Trenton then connect- ed for three unanswered goals in that period to take a 3 - 1 lead into the dressing room at the end of the second. Trenton scored their fourth goal-at the 5:14 mark of the finalperiod and it appeared it was ail over for the Toros. Jon Clieff scored for Bowrnanville, assisted by St. Amand and Greg Watson. Brad Cruess scored a goal, assisted by Watson and defenceman Brian Heard and the Toros were really flying at this point. With only 1: 19 showing in regulation time, defence- man Glen Duncan connected on a shot from the point to tie the game. He was assisted by Watson, who had a great game, and Brad Cruess. The overtime period was al Bowmanville and they con- nected for the winning goal at the 2:25 mark. The marksman was Chris Dreossi, assisted by Brent Neill and Lorne Whit- marsh. The insurance goal was scored into the open net by Clieff who was skating miles, assisted by Dreossi and Neill. Chris Clif ton was in goal for Bowmanville and was absolutely tremendous in the victory. On Sunday,- the Howard Wood Pee Wees travelled to Trenton and still had the momentum from the night before. At the 4:22 mark of the initial -period, Chris Lee scor- ed a beautiful goal assisted by bis centreman Brad Cruess and defenceman Pierre St. Amand. The Toros went two up on Trenton when Greg Watson scored, assisted by Jon Clieff. Trenton came back with two quîck goals at the beginning of the middle period to tie it up. At the 3:45 mark of the second, Watson scored and the Trenton squad sagged visibly. Chris Lee scored the fourth Bowmanville goal, assisted by St. Amand who had a great weekend. The final goal of the game was scored by Jon Clieff, unassisted, at the 10:47 mark of the second period. The thîrd period featured some superlative goaltending at both ends of the rink, particularly by the Trenton netminder as the Toros bom- barded hlm with several hard shots. The Toros are to be com- mended for "keeping their cool" in the dying minutes of this game as the frustration was beginning to show on the Trenton players. They were taking several cheap shots at Bowmanville, with Trenton taking several roughing penalties as well as a penalty for fighting and misconduct infractions. D & R put up a strong motion to come back with a couple of quick goals from Farrant with hîs second assisted by Spider; Brooks from Spider and O'Brien. D & R with their backs to the wall pulled their goalie in a futile effort to come back but spirits dropped when Spook banged in his 3rd of the evening unassisted. Hunt's looked pretty strong in their last few games and will provide stiff competition. in the finals with Hooper's Jewellers.
