It was Bewdley's Young Canada Night and a good crowd was on hand ta watch the games. 1For some reason Bewdley had difficulty icing a full team, dressing onl>' nine players. 1However, the nine players came ta, play hockey and put up a good effort before Delta Faucet graduali>' wore themn down. Bowmaenville had a 2- O0 lead after one period of play', Terry DeLuca scoring >unassisted, 'then Marc Richards from. Steve Maguire. 1Bowmanville added three goals in the second period, Kevin Welsh unassisted, Brian 1Canfield from Jeff Edmond- son and Steve Huisman, then 1Jeff Edmondson from Steve Huisman. Bewdley scored two 1goals leaving the score 5 - 2 for iDelta Faucet at the end of two. Bewdley got the only goal in ithe third period as they neyer 1quit trying and deserve credit for a fine effort., Brian Smith and Terry Coombes shared >goaltending duties for Bow- manville both playing a »steady game. Members of the Junior O.H.A. Peterborough Petes were on hand ta present 1autographed sticks ta the M.V.P. of each team. Many Delta Faucet players were eligible for the award and I'm »sure it was a difficult choice for the judges ta make. Terry DeLuca received the award for Bowmanville and con- gratulations go ta him, for a fine game. Man>' Delta Faucet parents and friends attended the game and congratulations go ta them also for braving a very foggy drive ta Bewdley and back ta see the boys play'. On Saturda>', March 3rd, Oshawa Ahl Season Sports weî e guests of the Delta Faucet Midgets at the Bow- manville arena. Delta Faucet held off a third peniod ral>' by the visitors and came out with a 4 - 3 win, their third straight exhibition, victory, and definitel>' held an edge in territorial play. Ralph Watts on a sizzling slapshot and Marc Richards on a fine deke were robbed of sure goals by the Oshawa goaltender Derek Campbell who kept his team in the game with excellent play'. Steve Huisman with two, Kevin Welsh and Ralph Watts were th Delta Faucet marks- men. Assists, well spread out, going ta Brian Masse>', John Foote, Scott Chapeli, Brent Thompson, Terry DeLuca, Marc Richards and goaltender, Terry Coombes, each picking up one, and this indicates the boys were passing the puck, a ver>' good sign. On the ather hand, penalties made an appearance, such as slashing and high sticking, the home team picking up thirteen, and it is hoped those invalved will dlean up their act and spend their ice time on the ice and not in the penalty box. Our defence, crew played well giving Terry Coombes in goal good protection most of the game and aur forwards are improving their passing game peaking, we hope, for our Pine Ridge Tournament.
