Young Cyclists Test Their Skills at Jaycettes' Bike Safety Rodeo: With help from the Jaycees and the Durham Regional Police Safety Bureau, Bowmanville's Jaycettes p ut the town's young cyclists, through their paces Saturday morning. A good turn-out was reported at the Jaycettes' bicycle safety rodeo held at the Central Public School. Here, a bike is checked to see if it meets safety standards before completing an obstacle course. Looking over the bike are Constable Don Anderson, of the Durham Regional Police; Larry Poole&, president of the Bowrnanville Jaycees; and Billiejo Barrett, one of the participants in the rodeo. PJrilzee Winners in Bike Rodeo In, the recent Jaycette bicycle rodeo, six medals were given to top cyclists in three categories. In the eight and under category, Paul Conway re- ceived 144 points for a -gold medal, Geoff Noyes was second with 136 and Craig Scott was third with 133. In the category for nine, 10 and 11-year-olds, Kelly Nes- bitt was first with 177 points, Chris Moroz was second with 166 and Todd Alldread placed third with 165. In the 12 and over category, Robert Anderson placed first with 184 points, Jane Hicks was second with 167 and Todd Beer was third with 158. The rodeo was held Satur- day, May 12, at the Central Public Sehool. Enniskillen Public School collected four prizes in recent choir competitions at the Peterborough and Oshawa Kiwanis Music Festivals. The choir shown here took p art in the Oshawa Kiwanis Festival where it won a first prize in the three-part junior choir category. T he junior choir also won a first prize at the Peterborough Kiwanis Festival. In'addition, Enniskillen won second prîze in Peterborough with its two-part girls' choir and a third prize for a three-part school choir. The direct or of the choirs is Mrs. M. Snowden and accompanist is Mr. Doug Dewell. .The Ontario March of Dimes in conjunction with the Oshawa Legion Track and Field Club will be sponsoring and organizing the First Annual Oshawa Classie Ten, Kilometre Race. The race is being billed as the Oshawa Classie and will be open to ail abled bodied and disabled joggers and runners. This new, event will take place on Sunday, June loth at Durham College with a 12 noon starting time. Participation- will be the theme for this race, in an effort to promote fitness for everyone and the positive capabilities of disabled athletes. Merchandise prizes will be available for thue first three finishers in fourteen dîfferent categories.
