Included in the presentation were, from- left to right, Area Representative Edna 'Tatcheli, 'Jaycette of the Year' Darla Allen, outgoing pregiden-t Heather Moroz and Regional Representative Lorraine Cowen. These are the new officers for the Jaycettes, from left to right, VicePresidenit Louise Aasen, Past President Lynn Killingbeck, President Darla Allen and Secretary-Treasurer Gail Sp)ence. The Bowmanville Figure- Skating Club executive meeting was held in the Recreation Office on Wednesday', May Sth, with 12 members in attendance, as weli as Mr. Caruana from the 1Recreation Department. There were aine letters of application from skating inistructors wishing to teach for the flowmanville Figure Skating Club for the upcoming skating season and these were read by Mr. Caruana and then passed around for ail the executive members to read. This coincides wlth the Officiai Year as set down by the Cafiadian Figure Skating Association. The photographs from the Skating Carnival are at the Community Services office and orders are being taken now. Parents are urged to place their orders for pictures, as woon as possible. The office is located l the former Bell bulding on Church and Temperance Streets. Meetings of the Executive are to be field on the -first Wednesday of every month fromn now on, and will com mence at 7:30 p.m. Parents are most welcome to attend any of these meetings and any suggestions wouldb6e mo9t welcome. Garry Thompson, who lives on the south-west corner of the fairgrounds on Princess Street, complained ini a letter to the committee that since the arena has been built, the street has changed from being fairly quiet to something like the 401. In addition, "the gate into the grounds east of my home is flot sufficient for two cars to pass through at the same time. The vehicles pull up on my lawn until one or the other hais gone through the gate." Thompson said his neigh- hors are flot happy with the Bowmanville and Orono Tennis Clubs kicked off their upcoming season with a Wine and Cheese Party held at the Lions Centre recently.
