McKay of Fenelon Falls was the speaker at the service held in Ballyduff Presbyterian Church on Sunday. The attendance was very small. Rev. McKay hopes that there will be more out on Sunday, August l9th, when he will again be the speaker. Time of service is 2:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Shorty) Moore of Bowmanville ýhave been holidaying at their second home on the 3rd line. The Moores and the Perey Beggs' enjoyed a visit to the Norwood Steam Show last Friday. A stag was held for Mark Bradley on Saturday night. Mark ends his bachelorhood this Saturday when he' and Miss Sue Ward of Lindsay are to be joined together in holy matrimony., Following the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pritchard in Oshawa on Saturday a reception was held at the home of the groom's daughter and son-in-law, Deana and David Smales. Approximately 50 guests attended from Oshawa, Toronto and, Kingston. The groom, 75 years of age and his bride, 72 years went on a boat cruise fo-their honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kubovic are presently enjoying a motor trip in the Maritime Provinces. Mrs. Jim McKee of Oshawa recently held a bridal shower for Miss Cathy Hyland whose wedding to Ted Butson takes place in Pontypool United Church on Saturday, August 4th. Cliff and Yvonne Fallis arrîved home on the weekend following a week's holiday with Mr. and Mrs, Cameron Rowan at their cottage at Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, and wîth Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rowan at their cottage at Wood Island, P.E.I. Many thanks to Jessie Fiàk for filling in with the Pontypool news in my absence. The Pontypool Generals have had a winning streak this week. They played three games and won them ail. On Tuesday, they defeated Kedron 9-2; on Friday they outscored Yelverton 5-4 and on Sunday the score was Ponty- pool 7, Port Perry 4. Winnie and Gordon Strong returned last Sunday from a motor trip to the west coast. While away they called on Oswald Mitchell at Moosomin and also spent some time with their son, Keith and daughter Gail. They report very warm weather with the temperature at 103 degrees F. in Southern Saskatchewan. They travelled thousands of miles without any trouble, but on the Wednesday following their return home, Winnie had the misfortune to fall and break her left wrist. We trust that your cast will not be too uncomfortable in this extremely warm weather, Winnie. Margaret Wright accompanied the Strongs to Saskatchewan where she visited wîth relatives while Gordon and Winnie continued westward. Margaret is now enjoying a holiday at her cottage on Chandos Lake.
