Bowmanville won the opening game 8-3 Sa1urday in Bowmanville. in the opening game, pitcber Rob Kennett limited Kanata to just six bits, walking seven and striking out six. He had plenty of defensîve belp from bis infield of Tony Rupa, Ralph Rozema, Rod Plain and Scott Bate. Scott Michelson knocked in four runs.with a triple and a single. Darcy Cummings went 3 for 3 and scored four runs. Plain scored two, with Rupa and Kennett accounting for the other runs. To win the championship, Hampton defeated Orono No. 1 55 to 19 and Bowmanville 15 to 12. The winning pitcher for Hamipton in both games was Elizabeth Hurst, who also made several outstanding defensive'plays to help win the games. The defensive play of the day was made by centre fielder Mary Lou Hunt of Hampton. The losing pitchers were Chariene Rodd from Orono No. 1 and Angela Dell fromn Bowmanville. The hitting star of the day was Jennifer Jarvis of Hampton with four home runs.
