This brought a jail sentence three months with license suspension three years. August 1 drave while ability was impaired and at same time refused ta comply with a breath sample. He was given 30 days concurrent an each charge. Richard John Lott. 45. R.R. 2, Pantypool, was charged May 9, 'drave after consumfiing over .08.' James Hawkins, 24, 128 BreezedaleAve., Ottawa was charged May 19, 'had care and control while ability was impaired. He pleaded, 'guilty'. He was represented by K. Van Nest. A test was .25. The fine was $300 or 30 days. Given 30 days ta pay. License suspension tbree months. William Cochrane, 31, 39A King St. E., Newcastle, plead- ed 'guilty' 'ta driving while disqualified.' The fine was $150 and costs. David Gardon Jacob, 18, R.R. 1, Bowmanville, was cbarged June 14 'did commit mischief ta an auto by breaking the windshield'. He was sitting in the car with the owner's daughter. He was placed on probation for one year, to make restitution in amount of $70 and ta stay away from the gfirl. Gardon John MacNab, 250 Coventry St., Oshawa, plead- ed 'guilty' ta possession of marijuana August 24. P.C. Buntsma checked him at the parking lot of the Elmhurst Hotel , Newcastle. The fine was $150 and costs or 12 days. Ronald Ray Hilgartner, 18, 86 Emperor St., Ajax, was charged with possession of .marijuana June 16. He plead- ed 'guilty'. His knapsack was checked. The fine was $150 or 12 days. Bruce Ross Rudkin, 24, 3 Flora Dr., Scarborough, pleaded 'nat guilty' toaa charge laid February 23 'had care and. contral after con- suming alcohl.' Const. Markle and Corp. Simpsan testified they were on patrol on Highway 35. Rudkin was stopped an the west shoulder of theroad. Rudkin said'in court taday 'bis friend was driving.' On evidence of the officers hie was found 'guilty' as charged. The fine was $300 or 30 days. Hydro Group Appointed by Council The municipality bas selected five persons ta serve on the new Town of Newcastle Hydro Commission next year.
