Mrs. musicians entertained us with Hall maved the minutes -be S ection Two Kinsmen Donate Funds The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, December 12, 1979 5' for Handicapped Workshop The Bowmanville Kinsmen recently turned over $2,500 to be used in the, development of a woodworking shop at the north campus of the Courtice Sehools. The woodworking program.will be part of classes for the, developmentally handicapped. Making the presentation on behaliof the Kinsmen are: (left, to right) Kinsmen President Art Evans and Ron Hooper, community services chairman. Representatives of the sehool are Barb Pammett, a teacher of the intermediate class and Principal Ian Golder. The Kinsmen are handing over a power tool which represents the group's donation. There are 31 developmentally handicapped young persons aged six to 21 at the Courtice schools. They corne from the western area of the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education and Victoria County. The Kinsmen's presentation to the school was made at their regular meeting at the Acres Restaurant December 4. Mr. Golder and Barb Pammett spoke to the group about their work with the developmentally handicapped. approved as written, seconded by Mrs. Bryant. An invitiation was received to the U.C.C. These were later auctioned off, except for one which the Institute gave to Mrs. Smales in honor of ber 95th birthday.
