L1H 7N1. A majority of teachers and trustees have ratified a Col- lective Agreement between The Durham Board of Educa- tion and District 17, O.S.S.T.F. The one-year agreement is effective from September 1, 1979 and expires August 31, 1980. The agreement provides for an increase of 7.5 per cent in all positions on the Grid. The salary rates will range from a minimum of $14,709 to $30,429. Responsiblity allowances were increased by $50 for all positions of Depart- ment Head and Consultant. Princîpals' rates range from $38,163 to a maximum of $41,710 in the new contract. Osbawa's community services committee will ask City Council for approval to slash $263,000 from its 1980 budget, a move that will make next year's capital budget for community services over haîf a million dollars less than the 1979 budget.
