Happy Ifunting Ground In Daringtoo-Clarke Under newv regulattions enaeted recently, pheasant hunters wiil be, permitted to purste their favourite sport from October I4 through to November 18 at Darllngton andi 'Presqu'iie Provincial Parks in tbe& Lindsay Forest District. In addition to extending the ýsea- son of these tiwo parks, this pro- gram provides further recreation for the hunIer in special areas where waterfow,,l hunting is already allowed. Hîghi Bluff Island at Presqu'ile Park, and the east hait! of Darling- ton Park, have been set up as phea- sant hunting zones. A maximum O f 10 hiunters at Presqu'ile and 12j hunters at Darlington may pur-1 chase daiity permits at $500 each onq a '"first corne, f irst served" basis' for the day of the shoot. Shooting hours are 9:W0 ain. to 5:00 p.m., local tirne. each day excepting Sun- days. The bag limit is three birds per day per hunter, and there are no resýtrictions as to the nurnlber of hien birds which may be taken. Under this new pheasant 1lntnting' scheme, hunters are not guaran- teed a set number of birds. however the flock will be maintained at a level sufficient to ailow each hun- ter his qucita dependent, of course, upon his own shooting skill and ac- curccy. For Ibis purpose a system of' daiy release of birds has been worked out based on the number of birds shot and reported observa- lons by hunters of the number of birds escaping outside the shooting area. Hunters wilI. therefore, appreci- ate 'the importance of the condition of their permît which requires them to report Iheir bag to the Park office upon ieaving. The co- operation of the hunters in this re- Igard is r-equested. 1SL Carrying on Whiere they ieft off~ Iast season hunters have fiocked tol Darlingiton Park ýo enjoy the spec. ial controîled duck shooting faciii-1 ties there.
