LITTLE BRITAIN DEFEATS KENDAL Saturday, June 10 Little Britain Generals, backed by a twelve hit attack, defeated the Kendal Eagles 7-3. Dan Miller pitched an excellent game for Little Britain allowing only five hits as Kendal scored ail their runs in the second inning. Collecting bits for Kendal were John Robinson, Dennis Knapp, Bill Robinson, Peter Henderson and J.R. Robinson. Kendal play their next game in Oshawa on Friday, June l6th at 7:30 p.m. then return to, Kendal on Sunday, June 18 to entertain the Bowmanville Electrons at 2 p.m. .R H E Little Britain 000 133 000 7 12 3 Kendal 030 000 000 3 5 2, D. Robinson Orienteerin-g at Spruce Valley A successful "B" type Orienteering M\,eet was held Sunday, May 28th, 1978 at Spruce'Valley Picnic Area, Ganaraska Forest with one hundred and three (103) competitors. Winners were: Mens: Red 'Open, 5.2 km - lst, Ted De St. Croix, Niagara; 2nd, Brian Ellis, Guelph; 3rd, Steve Pearson,, Hamilton. Orange Op en, 3.9 km - lst, John Downing, 415A Scouts Toron- to; 2nd, Brad Sokol, 415A Scouts Toronto; 3rd, Mike Waddington, Hamilton. Yel- low Open 1.9 km - lst, Rob Bryson, Bowmanville; 2nd, David Esser, MAC; rd, Ted Czsimazia. Women: Red Op- en 5.2 km - lst, Miriam Hickey, Toronto; 2nd, Barb Pearson, Hamilton; rd, Rita Rasmussen, Nordic. Orange Open 3.2 -km - lst, Sandra Todd; 2nd, Teresa Jones; 3rd, Margaret Robinson. Yellow Open, 1.9 km - lst, Marie- Helene Bergeron; 2nd, Sue Waddington; 3rd, Ann Szy- ptur. A meet of this type is excellent training for those competitors who will compete in the Ontario Championships to be held in the Northumber- land County Forest on Satur- day and Sunday, June 3rd and 4th, 1978. The next big event for Orienteering will be a 6-day meet to be hosted by to both Ontario and Quebec clubs. About 2,000 partici- pants are expected. The one day schedule for this area will be in the Ganaraska north of the. Cold Springs Camp on Monday, August l4th, 1978.
