There is classroom instruc- tion in the theory of accident avoidance and defensive dri- ving. The program includes def- ensive driving on regional roads to increase the officers' awareness and in addition, train him or ber to effectively perform the police role. The third category is per- formance of skill exercises which include controlled bra- king, evasîve mianeuvers, and skid control. In accident avoidance, skill can be used only as an extension to defensive driving. Although skid control is of practical value. Mir. Pesek emphasized that the best type of control is skid prevention. The Law Enforcement Dri- ver Training course now in progress, will continue until the end of October, and may lead to an ongoing program. The members of the MI & M Miens Lobb Bail team had a busy civic day week-end as they ventured to St. Cather- mes where they played in a tournament containing a ros- ter of 88 teamns. In the division that the M&M boys played in, a total of 36 teams were entered., According to the avid fans that accompanied the team the 8 gamnes that the IM & M's played were of highest quaity as the team camne out on top 6 out of the 8 gamnes.. Tis gave the teamn a, fourth place spot in the tournament as they w.,,ere deetdby a teamr from *Niagara in the last game by a 6-5 score. .
