The assists went to Jim Wood 1, Robert French 1, Paul Henry, Fric Dreslin- ski 1, Guy Brochvogel I and Greg Vey 1. Paul Rosseau played a good gaine for the local club. Newcastle visited Orono on Mon. Jan. 18th. for a league gaine. Orono defeated the visitors by a score of 10-3. This was the local clubs best effort of the season. On Wed. Jan. 20th. the Stutts Pharm-acy Bantams traveîled to Manvers for a league game. Orono dlefeated Manvers by a score of 4-1. Chris Langford has been steady between the pipes for the Stutts Pharmacy Bantamns. The Stutts Pharmacy Ban- tains were in Bewdley on Fni. Jan. 22nd. Orono won the game by a score of 9-0. Stephen Murree scored, 5 goals, Greg Vey 2, Singles went to Paul Henry and Jim Wood. The local boys took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Jean-Paul Tousignant, his first of the year, and Brent Gates assisted by Tim HaIlowell. Orono's third goal was scored by Greg Hooper assisted by Sean McKenzie and Shane Joncs. Mllbrook scored goals late in the first period and early in the se- cond. Scott Williams fired the puck past the Millbrook M illbrook goalie as he banged in a pass from Jarrett Prescott and David Schmyr. Greg got his second goal of the night assisted this time by Christopher Yeo and Jean- Paul. Brent and Timi combin- ed for théir second goal miak- ing the score 6-2. In the thîrd period Stevan Warr got his second goal for Millbrook. Trevor Lbmnax picked up his first goal of the season assisted by Brent Gates. Final score Orono 7 and Mllbrook 3. The home teamn played an excellent game as they skated both way game as they skated botli ways and dominated every' aspect of the game. Darren Dennis who has consistently shown some fine play aIl year opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first period. The Orono boys kept the pressure on and were rewarded when, Wayne Atkins netted a well deserved goal with assists going to Coran Zagar and Tim Mercer to give the home side a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period. In the second period Orono struck agaîn as Roberi Klepac scored with assists go- ing to Robert Snoek and Dar- ren Dennis. Orono continually pressured the visiting teain and were full measure for their 3-0 win. Special Mlen- tion to Mike Lane and Chris Richards who played an ex- cellent gamne on defense and to Wayne Atkins for a good two-way effort. Also Special Mention to Jason Carlton for the shut-out. Hamilton Midgets win one but outdone in two Cthers Orono travelled to Millbrook on Thursday even- ing to play them for last league gamne of the season. Milîbrook scored two quick goals to put Orono in a big hole in the first period. In the second period Orono got on track scorîng 3 goals and adding one in the third to take the win. Geoff Green and Chris Langford handled the goal tending duties for Orono each playing haîf the game. Scoring for Orono: Glyn Jenkins 1, Steve Clynes 1 unassisted, Ted Oster 1, Mur- ray Dennil. Assists going to: Derekc Mumford 2, Murray Dennis 1, Randy Tennant 1, Matt Willes 1. Jan . 23rd. Orono 2 and Bewdley 10 Orono travelled to Bewdley on Saturday evening. They were the guests of the Bewdley Midget team for the Young Canada Day Series. The boys received hot dogs and cokes afier the gaine and Glyn Jenkins won the M.V. P. award and received a C.C.M. hockey stick from the judges. It was one of those games for Orono as nothing went rightý for the team. Bewdley jumped on Orono right from the start and neyer gave them time to recover. Scoring for Orono were: Mike Hamel 1, Steve Sawyer assisting. Derek Murnford scored Orono second goal unassisted. Jan. 25tlh. Orono 4 Ops6 Gps Township travelled to Orono for the final league game of the season for the local boys. Playoffs start soon and it wiIl be a short season unless the-boys get their act together and get down to some hard work and playing as a team. The score was tied at the end of the first period and both teams traded goals in the second with the score tied at 4 all going into the third period. Orono had many chances in the third but Ops goalie Philip Callaghau turned thern aside.
