For more on please read coaches Coaches Corner In the gamne of hockey, as with many sports, the desire to Wrîn sometimes causes people to loose sight of why the sport is being played. (Hopefully for the thrill of participation or just simply for the fun of i.) We ail have been turned off a sport at one point or another by dirty play by the athletes, fans, and/or coaches. Somnetimes even the officiating. 1 am afraid that such may have beenl the case in our tyke tournamnent this past weekend. I would like to apologize to any Orono parents or kids who may have experieniced a mnoment of anx- iety, apprehension, emnbarrassment or humiliation. This as a result of a coaches conifrontationi occurring towards the end of the final game of the tournament. The follQwing is not a defense for what transpired, but rather the turn of events as seen through the greatly biased eyes of a coach. 1 believe it is an important job for acoach to instill upon his athletes the importance of fair play and sportsmanship. I would hope, that no one would everpurposely send some one to injure another play er. Unfortunately, sometimes, the desire to win eau cause this Io h- pen, even though it may be uintenl- tional. Marg West This week I'd like us to take a look at what God considers foolish. Foolish in Websters is "silly, un- Wise." In 1 Corinthians 1:18 we see "that the preaching of the cross (or Jesus) is to thern that perish foolishness, but unto us who believe (the preaching of the cross), and are savedby it, it is the power of God." So we see in this scripture that you are foolish in God's eye if you don't believe in the preaching of the cross, (the victorîous death of Jesus on it), and that you perish because you don't believe. Then in verse 19. we see that. God will destroy the wisdom of the w ise (human wisdom) and in verse 20 Paul says period scoring, stomach on the bench.
