The number of years involved is immnaterial. Most people (women in particular) are very evasive on this subject - but who cares? Most of them try to look twenty five even when they're twice that age - but more power to them. Men are much the samne, often claimning to be thirty years old, whien ini reality it takes themi fifteen minutes to crawl into bed. The energy required in this nightly exercise leaves, them completely exhausted, with nothing left on their mind except sleep. (Somne men anyway!!) 1 personally, (if anyone is in- terested) am the wrong side of for- ty. A heck of a long way on the wrong side, but t don't really feel it. 1 can still get out of bed in the mor- ning in weIl under twenty five minutes, providing 'm careful?!! After which another ten minutes are necessary'to ensure aIl the moving parts are working satîsfactorily, and usually by. mid-morning I am mobile enough to venture out into the world, smiling and joking with everyone, while 1 am trying to hide the fact that l'm probably aching in every limb. But what the hell, you onîy live once (l think?). So I may as welI enjoy it, event if I have slowed up a ittle, for there's really no need to rush, the inevitable wilI come soon enough? 1 see todays youngsters (those past twenty one) bursting with energy, as they stride confidently- toward sucess in their personal endeavors, and wonder what hap- pened to my dreams? However I have since realized that dreams have a habit of disappearing when you f -ly wake up. ~e desires and ambitions of ear- Iy ýears, seem to become unimpor- tant, and somnetimes even a littie ridiculous, compared with wvhatever knowledge and experience you have accumnilated, during that walk down the road of life. The desires that were so unimpor- tant in the past, when they were supposed to share your destiny, turned out to be just imagination, but incase anyone mistakes mv meaning, let me emphasize that dreams and desires are very impor- tant. They play a very ital factor in life, and without themr, ambition becomies non-existent. Believe mie when 1 say, "a person wýithout amn- bition, is like a ship without a rud- der."- You won't know where you're going, and what is worse, you wýoni't know what to do, when (and if) you get there. Some thirty five years ago t spent a lot of time and energy to advance my knowledge, in what turned out, "1surprisingly", to be my logical profession. Strange tu relate I didn't choose it, it apparently chose me. (Thankfully)!! Lady luck was good to me, in fact (as l've said many times before,) l've always been Iucky. 1 don't know why, but l'm very grateful, and I try hard to appreciate whatever it is, that has carried me safely through the years, up to my presenit position, and this brîngs me to the point where I started this rambling story. So ma ny years ago people, (sometimes) called me a "Ipest", then as 1 grew up, and joined the marines, 1 was know solely by a "Inumber", this later- became "dad" and then "grandpa", and now once again' l'mu back to square one, when, as you alI know l'm referred to , as (l prefer) to be cali- ed, Just George., (Here Endeth The Lesson) The ORONO D.B.I.A n conjunction with the ORONO TOWN HALL BOARD present "P UB BUMC K S Get your "PUB BUCKS" at your Orono participating businesses, Toreceive, your "Pub Bucks" ail you have to do is" purchase certain items or maybe even spend a small amount.
