Many are now questioning the reasoning behind Premier Peterson's caîl for a provincial lection. No doubt poli result have a bearing and with a possible further drop in the economy it is now time to go to the people of the province especially for Peterson. But ~" whole process will be wasted if the future of Canada and Ontario's place on the subject does not corne to the fore. Peterson has neyer been very explicit as to Ontario's stance but this election should give himthe opportunity to voice his view and get feed-back from the people. It would have appeared that Ontario has drifted on the con- stitution and even the give-away of senate seats at the recent Meech Lake debate had t o be a decision only of Peterson. A decision no well thought out and certainly had no effect as to the outcome of Meech. It's time to hear where we stand from the provincial leaders. Letter to the Editor Dear Sir: The decision to rent the premises of Mosport Park by the President Mr. Harvey Hudes to Truly Amaz- ing Productions to stage a Rock Concert re-enforces my opinion that the management of Mosport Park are not good corporate citizens nor do they care about our youth. Past Rock Concerts at Mosport have a bad history, as have Rock Concerts wherever they are held. Drugs have been openly sold and a lot of these drugs get into the hands of first time users. On top of that they have a history of vandalism and trespass which are almost impossible for our Police force to prevent. To hold this concert against the wishes of Council also indicates that Mosport Park has no respect either for the Council for for the citizens that the Council is supposed Orono Fair Features (Continued from page 1) Lloyd at 983-9761 and Ken at 579-5248. A new feature at the Durham Central Fair Iast year was the Photography Competition. Thtis event proved very popular and will rue again titis year. Judy Pierce formied the committee and set-up the classes but unfortunately she was unable to continue this year. Wayne Hunt of Pontypool has taken over the chairmanship and plans to continue with Judy's tradi- tion. He can be reached at 705-277-2261. Another very popular addition to the- fair last year was the car show. AI Barnard of Orono headed up this committee. Many of the vintage vehicles from the show will be in- cluded in the parade Saturday mor- ning. After the parade a show area will be set-up where these vehicles will be displayed and judged for the remainder of the aternoon. This year the cemmittee bas added a people's choice award w here the public will be lnvited to vote for their -favourite vehicle. Elgitteen trophies have been donated for this years' show and a long list of spon- sors are supportlng this years show. The 1990 fair sees even more events and classes being added. R. 1, Bowmanville and Ron would like to have a second spon- sor. Anyone wishing te sponsor or pre-register please col Ron at to represent. My wife and 1 live close to Mosport. For almost a year we have been looking forward to attending old Homne Week in myv home town, Gananogue, wich is to be held in the saine week as the Rock Concert. Wîth the impiiending Rock Concert we wouild flot dare leave our proper- ty on that weekençi for fear of what maY happen -to our home while we were away. 1 (s a sad commentary on our laws and lawmàkers that ordinary private citizens are trapped at home SO thart companies like Mosport Park and Truly Amazing Produc- tions can make their filthy money. For Mr. Harvey Hudes to furiher disclaim any responsibilites for damages that may occur as a result of this concert is also a sad reflec- tion of him as a person. Your truly, a mad, sad citizen P. Royal Lee 263-2209. A, Kiddie Tractor Pull will be aniother new, event at titis years fair. The G reat Pine Ridge Kinsmen have constructed a special sled for this pull.
