In the first match on Friday night, our boys pulled off a 3-3 tie. In the re- match on Sunday night, it was another close battie, but Orono went down to defeat as Baker Park scored in the dying seconds of the gaine to win by a-3-2 score. On Friday night, Orono got off to a good start, jumping into a first period 3-0 lead. Jeff Thompson scored first assisted by Christopher Bouley and Lee Allin. Next it was Matthew Reid scoring for Orono assisted by Christopher Wilhelm and Curtis Robinson. Then it was Jeff Thompson'again beating the Baker Park goaltender, assisted by Glencoe Hogle and Michael Knapp. Near the end of the lst period Baker Park finally managed a goal past Orono goaltender Justin Standeven. Things got much tighter from here on as the teams got use to each other and the goalies warmed up. The second period provided only one goal, and that was by Baker Park. The third period again was a close one but Baker Park managed one more shot past Justin to even the score. It was a very evenly matcbed gaine, with both goalies putting on a fine performance. The re-match on Sunday night, was another great gamne. Again Orono started the scoring as Christopher Bouley beat the Baker Park goalie with the only first period goal, Assisting on the play were Matthew Caruana and Curtis Robinson. Ini the second period Baker Park took over as they'squeezed two goals past Orono's Glencov- Hogle. In the 3rd period Orono came back early to tie things up on a goal by Matthew Reid, assisted by Justin Standeven and Colin Curcatz. Both teams battled hard regain the lead. In the third period Orono looking for a win held off Grafton for almost half the period, but the home team, not giving up, tied the game and put three more past the Orono goaltender to win a 6-3 decision. 1Strong goaltending froirn Ryan Schoep, and a great effort by aIl the players made it an enjoyable game to watch. On November 28, Orono put on a great effort in winning 11-0 over the weaker Warkworth team. From start to finish Orono took command, controlling the flow of the game kpeping the Warkworth team off balance, limiting them to only 4 or 5 good scorîng chances, but Ryan Schoep, the Orono goaltender, came up big preserving the shutout. Scoring went as follows: Steven Foster, 3 goals, 1 assist; Greg Bull, 3, goals, 1 assist; Bobby Witheridge, 2 goals; B.J. Hackett, 1 goal, 4 assists; Brett Maartense, 1 goal, 3 assists; Grant Esler, 1 goal, 3 assists; Jamie Richter, 4 assists; Mike Morrison, 2 assists; Devon Witheridge, 1 assist. A good effort from all the players and a great defensive game by Amy McAllister, made the trip to Warkworth worthwhile.
