With state of the art technology,-evenif you aren't an opera lover, lry and figure out how two actors could mun down a set of stairs and the next split second be running across a plank on the ceiling. .'rn sure everyone feli in love with the voice of Rebecca Caine, Toronto born, as she portrayed Christine Daae, a girl who is manipulated by three men, hier father who is dead, an old lover, and the phantom. She had flot only to sing with a pure voice but she also had to dance along with the thirty-five other acting-roles. Colin Wilkinson, who also has an illuminating voice was superb. One of the highlights of the show was when she tore his mask off. It looked like..oh, you should see for yoursclf. These are the first performers to appear live on the stage of the Partages Theatre in almost sixty years. The phantom of the Opera has the largest box office advance sale ever, and in its first year will be seen by more than 880,000 theatre goers from ahl over North America. It is one evening of grandeur and elegance that everyone dreamns of expcriencing. It is well worth the night out. Oh. Don't worry about having, to drive downtown Toronto. Catch the Go- Train to Union Station and take the subway. Get off at the Eatons Centre and walk across the street. Take the children. My eight and twelve year old loved it and still sing The Phantom around the house and i the car. They as well as I will always remember the feeling of sitting i the Pantages Theatre and watching a super live play. Not one movie of the Phantorn can corne close to comparing to the live theatre performance. If you have already seen-it, I've been told it is just as good the second tirne around.
