Miss Kathleen Stark, who has been president of the Young Peoples Union for the past year, was presented with a pair of walnut end tables by Manley Littlewood and Jean Forrester on behaîf of the Y.P.U., as a token of appreciation for her timne an d help and to wish her happiness- in her coming marriage. Mr. H. S. Cobbledick, of Leamington High School teaching staff and friends visited Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Cobbledick over the 24th. Orono Citizen's Band will give an Open air concert in front of the town hall on Saturday evening next. Congratulations to Roy Colville upon winning his degree in Law at the University of Toronto with honours and congratulations also to Mr. W. H. Brown in the gaining of his Master of Arts degree at the University of Toronto. Misses Eileen Riddell, Myrtle Tamblyn, Myrtle Smith and Kathleen Stark enjoyed a motor tip last weekend to the Muskoka district. Hop Lunn is confinied to his house with another dose of swamp fever. Miss Alice Mitchell, of Fareham, Southiampton, England is spending a few days with Mrs. George Butters, also Mrs. George Mitchell, of Toronto. The annual Decoration Day of Orono Community Cemetery was held on the aftemnoon of June 25th at 3:00 p.m. The service was in charge Of Mr. H. J. Souch and the Orono Citizens band played for the singing and rendered one selection. The ladies of Orono Public Library Board are to be commended on their work in having the Public Library brightened up with a coat of paint jind also new wallpaper. 'Me ladies take a great interest in the library and spenld many hours for the convenience of the public.
