Prizes were awarded 10 tthe igbest pletige coilectors in eacb school. The wmnners were as follows: Kirby Public - Michelle Watson -grade three Pines Senior Public - Nick Hand- grade eight Orono Public - Erin Watson - grade five and Danielle Oegema - grade 1 Newcastle/Lockbart Public - Justin Szymnczak - grade 1; Brian Trotrian - grade 5 and Lisa Welsb - Senior K. Newtonville Public- Ricky Howe - grade 1 and Rebecca Hale - grade 5 We also figured out the top school by driving the number of studenis ini the school -with the total arnounit of monies coilected. We are happy to announce that Newîonvilie Public was the recipient of Ibis Award. They coilected more than double per, student dbm other scbools,-quite a challenge considering they are a rural scbool and have the smailesl enrolîment. Congratulations. At ibis time 1 would like to thank everyone, studenis and pledgers who belped make tis a success. Plans are already under way t0 host another Skate-a-thon in our 1992-93 Kmnette Season. Our Youth Dance of November 1 bas sceen our largest attendance yet. A total of 147 students. Thank you so much 10 the Memnbers of the Pines P.T.A. and the Orono Youth Center for helping to chaperon. Your assistance was very much appreciated. Community members interested in cbaperoning these events are asked to cali. Without your help we may have t0 cancel some of these e vents and from the nmnber of students turning out, we are definitely doing somne good. It is helping Lo keep these young community members off the street and ini a well supervised area. We need at least 8 chaperons per dance. Our next dance will be on Friday December 6,71:00 p.m. at the Orono Town Hall. Admission is $4.00 per studeni and they are not permitted to leave the premnises without adult -accompaniment before 110:00 p.m. On November 13 we had an enjoyable evening with Zone Kinette Coordinator Fran Jeffery of Ajax i attendance. She informed us of some of the happenings i the Zone (other Kinette clubs in the area) as well as District and National. If you are a female belween the ages of 21 and 45 andý inîecrested in joining us for a General Meeting, please feel free to caîl the 'Club President, Janet ai 987-5341. We look forward t0 meeting more members of our great, and growing communîties. I wish t0 take this time t0 thank the community for their continued support of ahl our functions.
