ORONO, ONTARIO, WEDNE$DAY, FEBRUARY 24,1993 SReceive Commenwrative Medals with presentation by Ross Stevenson Ross Stevenson, M.P. for tie riding of Durhamr, paid tribute to forty members of the area last Friday evening with the pre- sentation of thc Commemorative Medals for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation. Theic mdals were prcsented to the selected constituents in Durham who had played a significant part ini contributing to their fcllowmen, community and to thecir coUntry. In al, Ross Stevenson awarded forty medals at a simple but impressive ceremony at the Northview Community Centre in Oshawa. The recipients were piped ino the hall with Gary Polonsky giving a brief opening address and acted as master of ceremonies. To add to the colour of the event two RCMP officers were i attendance assisting with the presentation. A brief resumne was outlined for each person receiving the mnedas. Lunich was served following the presentation by Ross Stevenson.
