Reaches 94% of objective The United Way of Whitby Oshawa Clarington last week reached 94%. of its objective of $3.05 million. As of last Wednesday a total of $2.88 million had been pledged to the United Way. Director of the campaign states there is stitl a way to go to reach the objective. The United Way supports 200 agencies in the Region in which 80,000 people are served. Court building cleared A bomb threat and a suspicious brief case was cause enough for the Regionai Police to have the Whitby traffîc court building evacuated one moming last week. After an hour search by the Regional Police explosive disposai unit an ail-clear was announced. The Brief Case is thought to have been planted by the caller of the bomb threat as it contained some garbage. Pa rking metres destroyed Vandals last week destroyed seven parking metres in Bowmanville at the Silver Street parking lot. There was no estimate of damage.
