During their 48th anniversary celebration recently Sister Hattie Wilson was presented with a bouquet of carnations and a glassed flower. On Monday Lorna Aîkins, Noble Grand of the Heather Rcbekah Lodge paid Sister Hattie a visit. Hattie and ber husband VirIle were most instrumental in the organization of Heat her Rebekah Lodge some 48 years ago. It wil bc held on Thursday, April 27 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. (mostlyinside the school). Pastor George Maban of the Newcastle Pentecostal Church rcad the scripture. To conclude tbe service the hymn 'Amazing Grace' was sung by one and ahl. After tbe hymn everyonc was asked to form a circle and to hold bands while the last blessing was said. It was off to St., George's Anglican Church wbcre a bot breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast and jam, muffins and lea, coffec and juice was scrved. A special presentalion was made to Sister Hattie Wilson, our Charter member with 50 years of service to our organizalion. The Newcastle Oplimist Club held their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15. Ahl the children arrivcd, with baskets in hand, cager to hunt for Uic Easter goodies that Uic members of the Optimist Club had carcfully hiddcn. It didn't take long before the squcals of deligbî could be beard as thc children found eggs, bunnies, chicks and other things. A good, lime was had by one and ail. Al Uiechcildren who wcre at Uic Easter Egg Hunt would like 10 say thank you to evcryone who helped 10 plan and prepare the hunt for them and for making it Uic great success il turned out 10 bc. The promoters were well pleased with the interest and the thousands that lined portions of the course as spectators. The event conts $ 1500.0010o stage.
