Designers 'B' Champs in Bellevi lie tournament The O.M.H.A. Accessible Design Atoms recently coin- peted in a two-day tournarnent in Belleville bringtng home 'B' championship. In their first game, Orono suited up against Smithville--a teamn from the U.S. Orono was down 1-0 early and didn't start playing until the end of the Second. At 2:57 of the second 10rono tied t up as Brian Pisani scored from Doug Garlic and Paul Richter. Smithiville scored early in the third to go up by a goal, but the designers foughit back and pulled even at 4:45 as Kyle Allun slipped one in from Mike Fuller and Chris Moffat. Neither could break the dead- lock and the game ended in a 2-ail tie. Orono 4-2 over Cazenovia Cazenovia was Orono's next opponent featuring many scor- ing opportunities. Orono dozed for the first and second periods and quickly found thernselves behind 2---but, they woke up just in timc during the third period and scored foirr unan- swered goals. Ryan Campney began the scoring roi] at 8:54 from Kyle Alfin and Paul Richter. A minute later Chris Moffat tied it up from Doug Garlic and Campney. It stayed that way until 2:28 when Kyle Allin put home the winner from Mike Fuller and Moffat. Cazenovia tried to corne back but Orono scored the insurance goal with 16 seconds left as Garic scored from Allun and Paul Richter. Final score 4-2 Orono. Designers 'B' Champions Orono played the 'B' cham- pionship game versus Havelock and taking home the hardware quite handily, This game was a blow-out as Orono went on to defeat Havelock 8- 2. Doug Garlick led the offense with 4 goals followed by Kyle Allin with 3 goals and an assist and Paul Richter with i goal. Kyle Cox, Chris Moffat and Brian Pisani each contributed assists. Pine Ridge Insurance Novices give winrling effort in À4-3 Ioss Pine Ridge Insurance novices played two scrimmage games this week to gear up for playoffs. Although Orono dropped both gaines, Luke Green and. Dustin Armstrong came out winners withi major contributions to their team's offensive output! On March 4th, Pine Ridge played host to Bowm-anville's National Trust who recorded a close 4-3- win. Orono had more than enough opportunities to put the gamne away but just could solve the Bowmnanville netminder. Dustin Armstrong scored two of Orono's thrce goals and Jonathan Koerssen the other. Jacob Stoc'kweïl helped his mates with 2 assists and Michael Whelan had 1. Union Oit 5-3 over Orono Pine Ridge was home to face Bowmanville Union Oul on March 7th. Luke Green, determined and driven scored al three Orono goals. Assists went to Michael Hisson, Jonathan Koerssen and Kenny Jackson. Orono showed no zip in the first and second periods and finally came alive in the third--but it was too late giving Union Oit a 5-3 victory. Playoff win over Drivers March 1 5 saw the Orono Insurance crew turn on the heat wtth a 5-4 win over Bowmanville's Young Drivers. Orono notched 3) goals early in the first to take the lead. The Drivers were ahead 4-3 in the third but Orono's Joshl Dobson took a rebound pass fromn Emma Lunn scoring on a well- placed shiot. Jonathan Koerssen, providing lots of spunk and wining drive-- whacked in four of Pinle Ridge's five goals, wreaking havoc against the Young Drivers defence team.
