After potluck lunch, Mike Pearce and Russel Hunt con- ducted games and races for chiidren of ail ages. Running 5-9 years of age Joel Rickard. 10-12 years of age Sara Cawker. Runn-ing 12 and over Nikkl LaFrance. 3-legged race Jason Walton and Devon Alin. Adrien Hunt blew the blggest bubble guim bubble. Pat Tosswill kicked her shoe farthest in the women's shoe kick contest. 2nd place was Kay Powell. Good Work Ladies! Michael Rtckard kicked bis shoe right over the bull and in 2nd place was Don Rickard. Aw.ýesome guys! Neatest tie around partners neck was David and Marilyn Werry. Fastest couple to tie a tie around partner's neck was Robin and Wendy Rickard. The "Not-So-Neat" tie tied around partner's neck was Don and Gail Pckard. Keep practicing! The candy toss had ail the children scrab- bling. Twenty basebail pl.ayers descended on Edward Street Bail Park for a game of 3- pitch. The game going back and forth between each team ending in atie at 14 ail. Larry Pearce did another excellent job of organizing an entertaining crokinole tour- nament with two finalists being Bill and Bruce Allin with Bruce edging hïs Dad out. Du rham AIDSwalk on Sunday, September 27th, the Annual Durham AIDS WalIk will take place at Memrorial Park in Oshawa. The event raises AIDS awareness and funds for AIDS support, education and advocacy in Durhami Region. To take part in this fun and worthwhile event, stop by the AIDS Commnittee of DurhanVs booth at 'the Oshawa Shopping Centre. The booth will be located at the Mall's North end on Friday, August 2lst from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Stop by and pick up your reg- istration formn so that you can get an early start on your pledge collecting. if you can't make it to the Oshawa Centre on that date, you can pick up a registra- tion fcrm at the AIDS Committee of Durham or cali them at (905) 665-0051. Excellent guess Adrien! Special thanks to Brenton and Jean for opening their home to us. The beautiful flower beds create a perfect setting for our annual plçnic. Also, special thanks to Bill Aluin for planning his Euphonium throughout the day and to Terry and Phyllis Price for donating a delicious sweet feast of corn. Our celebration ended with a new executive being formed for 1999-2000. Many thanks to the out going executive. Job well done!
