As well, additional research on the health effects of all forms of power production -- coal, nuclear, gas, oil and wind -- is essential. It is important to apply the precautionary principle to all energy projects in order to select methods of generation and rules that minimize health concerns. Ontario, like many jurisdictions around the world, is struggling with how to maintain prosperity and quality of life in a world where the cost of fossil fuels will continue to rise. Likewise, the cost of refurbishing or replacing our aging nuclear facilities presents a financially untenable reality for Ontario taxpayers and the health of our environment. Energy efficiency is the most financially responsible and effective approach to addressing our energy needs. The government must be pushed to make conservation a higher priority than new supply generation. Therefore, the Green Party believes that the government's implementation of the Green Energy Act must be reformed to focus on community ownership, benefits, health and decision making. And the winner is... by: Maggie Savage Co-op Student Clarke High School's House Day was held two Thursdays ago where students of all houses battled with spirit to win the grand prize. House day started last year, where Clarke students and teachers were spilt up into four teams; Superman, Spiderman, Hulk and Batman, which had their own cheers and house colours. House Day is the last possible day the houses are able to show their spirit where points were gathered from the amount of spirit a team had at House Day and through out the school year. Last year Hulk took the victory winning the free Canada's Wonderland Trip. House day, Student Council announced the places of the Houses. A tie for third between Hulk & Batman and in first place Superman while Spiderman placed second once again. Student Council and the participating members of the Superman house went to Canada's Wonderland on Friday May 28th, 2010. Students went for the entire day while other houses attended school that day. The battle is over for the four super heroes but will return for the 2010/2011 school year at Clarke High School, where there will be new students and different House Days. This year at Clarke High School the last House Day was held on Thursday May 20th, 2010 where all the houses showed their spirit to win the free trip to Wonderland.
