Thursday evening Jan. 22 a number of people of Taunton and vicinity gathered at the home of Miss Florence Cameron to show their appreciation of the valuable service which she has so cheerfully rendered rendered in connection with the service of song in both Church and Sunday School. Miss Cameron has for the past three years been organist of the Zion church and her many friends felt that they could not allow allow the present opportunity to pass without without placing on record their high appreciation appreciation of the service rendered them. Guy called the company to order, Miss Elva VanDyke read a nicely worded address, and Misses Nellie Guy and Florence Burk made the presentation of a beautiful hall rack with the best wishes of all present for faithful service tendered. Misses Hazel Crago and Florence Florence Osborne gave recitations and in strumental music which, with games of various kinds and refreshments, concluded a pleasant social evening. SOLINA DOINGS. Werry, "Roselandvale,' was saddened Monday night by the death of their, little boy, Gordon, who has been seriously ill for over a week with bronchial bronchial pneumonia. Every care and attention attention was given him by the nurses and doctors who were with him all the time, but his life could not be spared. He was a bright, cheerful lad and will be much missed in the home. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Werry deeply sympathize ith them in their sorrow About 25 members of Solina Division, S.O.T., visited visited their brother at Taunton and enjoyed themselves exceedingly Friday night. Miss Edna Reynolds graced the chair. About 20 were present from Maple Grove and some from Oshawa. The hall was filled with temperance workers. Lunch was served, a good program rendered and a Mr! Co., Ltd., the Secretary, presented presented the report of the past year's work, which had provided a most, successful one, 40801 lbs of butter having been made and nearly $9000liaving been been paid to the patrons, leaving a small balance to the company after meeting all the current- expenses. The thirty-fourth annual meeting of Whitby Women's Foreign * Missionary Society's Presbvterial was held in Presbyterian Presbyterian Church,' Brooklin, Wednesday, January 2lst. Mrs. MacFadyen, the President, President, presided. All reports were encouraging. encouraging. Total amount raised by the Auxiliaries was $1,194, and by the Mission Bands, $106.81. Mrs. Haig was appointed delegate to the annual meeting in Toronto. Toronto. Next Presbyterial will be held in Whitby. Miss Lethbridge, Toronto, gave a very interesting talk on Mission Study Classes. Miss Cherihue, of India, described described the work in Central India in a very interesting interesting manner. Our mission includes 15,000 villages in Central India. In the evening, Rev. Geo. Yule, Oshawa, addressed addressed the meeting, showing that mis- : sion work was our great opportunity, but I that greater than the need for money or men was world-wide prayer. Rev. _ W\ A. Wilson, D.D., who has been a'mission- ary in India for thirty years, told of the great advances made there.
