1 Eagles Suffer First Loss of Season to Uxbridge Bruins 6-4 The Cowan Pontiac Eagles' modest three game winning streak came to an abrupt halt in Uxbridge Friday as the Bruins tuned the Eagles 6 to 4 for their first win of the season. The Bruins always have a good skating team and the Eagles always seem to have the "blahs" when they go to Uxbridge. There are no statistic statistic sheets available at this time but it seems that at one time in this game the Eagles owned a 3 to 1 lead. The Uxbridge win in this game will do much for that team's confidence confidence after three straight losses. The Bruins team, coach and executive members will savor this win until they can upset the Eagles again. The Uxbridge Uxbridge team's victories over the Eagles have been few in the past four years. The Eagles will be out to avenge this loss when Uxbridge Uxbridge visits the Eagles nest Sunday, November 14. To Earn a Tie The Eagles scored in the last minute and a half of this game to earn a 2 to 2 tie with the Little Britain Merchants Saturday night. The Merchants Merchants scored two goals in the first period and with the second period being scoreless the Eagles went into the third period down 2 to 0. Glen German finally scored a power play goal, after five minutes of the third period from Randy MacDonald and Duane Major to get the Eagles on the score board. Then, with only a minute and a half left in the game, Lome Finney scored from Randy MacDonald MacDonald to draw the Eagles even. The Eagles outshot Little Britain by a 39 to 26 count but are not putting the puck in the net. Also giving credit where credit is due, the Merchants are a much improved team and certainly will not be the league doormats this year. The Eagles played Lake- field on Tuesday and accord- . ing to reports the Chiefs are a much improved team. The Eagles play next at home Sunday, Oct. 24 with Bewdley visiting the Eagles' nest. The,Bewdley team is also off to a slow start but again this is a team that seems to bring out the worst in the Eagles.
