Froject Collects 4,600 to Help Centre's Expenses Friday, December 3rd was a big evening for the Visual Arts Centre. For the last two months the volunteers had worked on a fundraising drive and the outcome was tremendous. The committee raised $4,600.00 which represents 92 tickets out of 100 sold, at $50 each. The tickets were a passport to a delightful evening with well known artists Helen Carmichael - Porter, storyteller and Linda Shewchuk, flutist, entertaining the audience. Wine and hors d'oeuvres were served throughout the evening, which reached its climax with a draw for 10 paintings donated by well known Ontario Artists for this occasion. The money will be used for upgrading of the art centre to accommodate!shows on a broader scale as well as the introduction of a community and rental programme. This is another venturé of the dynamic V.A.C. volunteers committee and it is aimed towards a permanent revenue to subsidize the many stimulating courses and workshops which/ are presented to the public on an ongoing basis.
