Following the supper, euchre was played with the prizes going to Derena Clark, Anne Holtby, Herman Webb, Gordon Britton and Lawrence Adams (door pirze). The next card party will be held on Friday, Jan. 7th. The two draw prizes at the supper were won by Dorothy Dewar, floral arrangement arrangement and Joyce Baldwin, embroidered luncheon cloth. Mrs. Ken MacKenzie and her mother, Mrs. Janet Lee, attended a relative's funeral in Detroit last week. They returned home on Sunday. Speedy get-well wishes are sent to Mrs. Don-Lebeau and her daughter, Monique, who have both been patients in Peterborough Civic Hospital. It is hoped that both will be home for Christmas. Danny Mitchell, who is a goalie with the Lindsay Trent Muskies in the Junior C Hockey League, had a shutout shutout on Friday night against the Cobourg team. This is Danny's second shut-out for the season so far. There have been only three shut-outs in the entire league. Danny is a cadet with the Durham Regional Police. Pontypool Community Centre was full of activity on Friday morning when the local nursery school held its Christmas party. In addition to the girls and boys who attend, mothers and younger brothers and sisters were on hand to join in the fun. The children sang several songs before Santa, (Mr. Bruffell) made his appearance to hand out gifts. Lunch was served and a jolly time had by all. The Nursery School is held on three mornings a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday- with Mrs. B. Siebenga of Bowmanville as the teacher. In the Ladies Bowling League on Monday, the high single, 236, was bowled by Marion Byers with Marion also having the high double 382. Last week's high single was 236, rolled by Aileen Moore. Last Wednesday, Lisa Stiner, Lisa Hamilton, Kim Molloy and Kerri Lyn Challice were enrolled as Guides. Tracy Wing was presented with her three "year "Service Star and Kelli Peacock received received her five year Service Star. Sympathy is sent to the Murphy family of the passing of Doug's brother, George, who died Dec. 15th with burial in Newmarket last Saturday. Bernard and Chris Neals were Sunday visitors with Preston and Aileen Neals, Lindsay. Helen and Gene Erickson, Denise Brown, Larry and Evelyn Bradley and family were present at the Christmas get-together for the Fee family which was held in Omemee on Sunday. Hutton passed away at the Elliott Nursing Home, Guelph, on Monday, December 13th, 1982. She had been a resident of Courtice, for the past 30 years and formerly lived in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. » Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles McDermid, the former Janet Brodie McDer- mid was born June 13, 1896 in Greénoch, Scotland. She was married in 1918 at Guelph. ' Mrs. Hutton was a member of the Salvation Army'P.M.A. and had been active with Courtice Women's Association. Association. Her husband, Herbert Thomas Hutton, died in November of 1963. Two sisters, sisters, Mrs. Agnes Boulding and Mrs. Marion Barber; and two brothers, Alex and Derby, also predeceased her. Mrs. Hutton is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ed Blakely (Violet) of Oshawa; three sons, Harry of Courtice, George of Guelph, Ken of Oshawa; three sisters, Mrs; Hugh Herron of Kincardine, Mrs. Jim Breen and Mrs. Leo Toker, both of Santa Anna, California; four brothers, James, John and Aubrey McDermid McDermid of Guelph, Charlie of Grant's Pass, Oregon; 13 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Hutton rested at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa. Service was held in the chapel on Thursday. Pastor Edward MacDonald officiated.
