Brown 1st Vice-Pres. in charge of the following business. The meeting opened with the singing of the Ode and the repeating of the Lord's Prayer in unison. The Roll Call was 1. Pay your fees. 2. Name a country belonging to A-C W.W. and tell something about the country. "Good Neighbors" report was given by Mrs. H. Cryderman. Mrs. H. Prescott and Mrs. Wm. Smit will be in charge of the 25th Anniversary Dinner for Mr. and Mrs. A. Noordstra on April 30th. Mrs. E. Burke and Mrs. Wm. Polak will be in charge of a retired Teachers Dinner on June 2nd. We will make sandwiches, cookies and squares for a wedding June 25th. 4H Achievement Day for the course 'Looking great, feeling great' will be held at Enniskillen Enniskillen Public School on April 22nd at 7:30 p.m. The following business for the Annual Meeting was as follows: Minutes of last Annual Meeting followed by the Financial Statement showing showing a year end balance of $324.82. . . On Wednesday, June 8th the (Eanadmti Statesman and the îfrwtaatk 3nbepcnbent will be publishing a Joannas' Group at St, John's Hosts Successful Spring Fashion Show Ï4 11 The St. John's Joannas Group sponsored a fashion show in the basement auditorium of the St. John's Anglican Church on Monday night, April 11th and the show attracted a full house. "Step Into Spring" was the theme for the evening. The four models who took part in the event are shown here with Beatrice Blake, president of the Joannas. Membership - Mrs. Wm. Polah, Mrs. H. Eeuwes, Mrs. S. Jeffery, Mrs. J, Rekker; Curator - Mrs. S. Morton, Mrs. W. Laird; Resolutions - Mrs. R. Metcalf, Mrs. W. Brown; Press Reporter - Mrs. W. Brown. The Motto 'The origin and uses of 'Pennies for Friendship' Friendship' was commented on by Mrs, H. Bradley. She said the idea of 'Pennies for Friendship' was begun in 1939. Pennies or coins of all kinds finance 75 percent of the work of Associated Country Women of the World. A.C.W.W.speak and work for the benefit of all the member countries of which there are 65 Countries. The Country Women, an A.C.W.W. magazine is published published four times a year, and the money from these sales amounted to $200,000 last year. 'Pennies for Friendship' imrpove living standards and help families of many countries countries within A.C.W.W. Fashion Consultant Dianne Kroes was the commentator for the program and Evelyn Marchant provided musical accompaniment. Florence Lake was head of the committee which arranged the show. During the social hour each convenor drew names for her group for the following year and each group will plan their meetings in the next two weeks. A Branch Executive Meeting Meeting will be held at Mrs. A. Vandergaast's on April 27th at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. A. Noordstra and her group served fruit loaves and cheese, tea and coffee during the social hour. Sandy Yates takes her turn on stage at the: fashion show.
