Displays Styles from Past and Present Models from the Leisure Lady and Bowmanville Museum Fashion Show gave an audience at Bowmanville High School a look at yesterday's fashions and the latest styles last Wednesday, April 20. The models from Leisure Lady are shown above, along with some of the other persons who assisted with the show. They include: Linda Pauley, Pat Marjerrison, Lynn May, Debbie and shoes by Maher. Dykstra, Annette Payne, Michelle Lyons, Viveca Rupa, Wanda Adamcewicz, Jean deBlois, Irene Hodgson, Jane Scott, Marie DeSilver, Zan Ramjohn, Grace MacGregor, Betty MacGregor. Also shown are commemtator Kathy Lyons and hair stylists Lynda and Dave, of Duncan's Designers of Hair. President Downey welcomed welcomed members and visitors and explained that the audience was going to do the judging of our April show. Past President Gibbs introduced introduced the speaker for the evening, Len Koenderman from Carnation Flower Shop. Mr. Koenderman demonstrated demonstrated four flower arrangements that could easily be done with our garden flowers. The first one was three carnations in a vase; the second three sweetheart sweetheart roses in a snifter; the third a basket of spring flowers and the last one a pretty corsage of pink, miniature miniature carnations. Shirrell Leetooze capably thanked Mr. Koenderman and proffered a remuneration which Len endorsed and turned back to the society. During the business period which followed, Doreen Perrett read the minutes and also a list oi cards sent out during the month. The Treasurer's Treasurer's report was read by H. Bickell and Sherrell Leetooze commented on the Junior Gardeners. She would like to have members up to 14 years of age sign up with this group. The society has a subscription subscription to 'Trellis' publication which is available for members members to read. The O.H.A. Convention in June from 15th - 17th was Jean de Blois models a two-piece evening outfit by Leisure Lady while a , mannequin borrowed from the Bowmanville Museum looks on. Michelle Lyons wears black leather pants and a white blouse. Fashions old and new were presented last Museum supplied apparel from yesteryear. There was a house plant sale held among members and visitors and the Annual May Plant Sale was announced for May 18th. A draw was held for Mr. Koenderman's arrangements and the winners were - Doreen Perrett, Mr. Duchemin, Mrs. Eva Jackson, and B. Barnes. Lunch was served by Mrs. Short and Mrs. Darch for a social half hour, JOHN EDWARD SNOEK The death of John Edward Snoek, aged 28, occurred at London, on Thursday, April 7th, 1983, as the result of a traffic accident. He was the son of Hans and Anne Snoek, of Orono. Born in Bowmanville, he was educated educated at Knox Christian School, Durham Christian High School and Dordt College, Iowa, U.S.A. He was married in 1978 to Wilma Haan, A resident of Hampton for three years, he had previously resided in Peterborough. He had been employed as a truck driver for Gerry's Produce, Port Perry. He was a member of the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, Bowmanville. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Wilma, two sons David and Matthew, his parents, three brothers, Art, Jim and Robert, four sisters Joyce (Hoekstra), Dorothy (Vandergaast), Wendy and Ellen, his grandmothers Mrs. E. D. M. Snoek and Mrs. B. Kruys, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Rehoboth Church on Saturday, with funeral arrangements arrangements by Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home.
