Cawker Blue Ray News Several members from the Cartwright area were on hand for the special night held on Thursday, May 12, in the Masonic Temple, Port Perry, when Matrons, Patrons, and Associates representing "The Garden of love year 1982-83" was honoured. honoured. The Worthy Matron Joyce Taylor and Worthy Patron Sam Cawker extended a "fraternal" welcome to the honoured guests, and the matron presented presented the ladies with a white rose and the patron presented the gents with a picture. It was a pleasure to greet Associate Patron Don Dickerson of Fidelis Chapter, North Bay, as well as many other officers and members from out of town. Guests were present from: Aloha, Durham, Whitby, Sunbeam, Fidelis, Sunland and Blue Ray members. After officers retired and Chapter closed a draw on a beautiful afghan and matching cushion - made by the Worthy Matron as her project for the local hospital funds - was drawn. Lucky winner - Assoc. Matron Barbara Mosier of Sunbeam. Refreshments Refreshments were served in the lower hall by Elsa Bongard and committee and an informal visit was enjoyed. Stanley Malcolm Celebrates 90th Birthday The family of Stanley Malcolm honoured their father with an Open House on the occasion of his 90th birthday held on Sunday, May 8, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Nestleton Community Centre. Over 150 relatives relatives and friends were welcomed by his children - Lawrence and Gwendolyn Malcolm, Neslteton, Neil and Noreen Malcolm, Black- stock, and Jean and Jim Millet, Ottawa. His twelve grandchildren attended except for Laurie Malcolm of Banff, Alberta. All seventeen great grandchildren grandchildren were present to enjoy this memorable event. The attractive tea table was centred with a large beautifully decorated Birthday cake, created by Arlene Malcolm. Arrangements Arrangements of blue candles, white mums and yellow tulips graced the tea tables. Granddaughter Mary Lou Kellogg served the Birthday Cake to the guests. The Nestleton U.C.W. prepared prepared and served the delicious lunch. On display were many cards, photos, flowers and gifts including scrolls from Governor General Schreyer, Prime Minister Trudeau, Premier Davis and Township of Scugog. During a short program program an adapted version of "Grandfather's "Grandfather's Clock" was sung by great grandchildren, grandchildren, Heather, Alison, Kingsley, and Joshua Malcolm. 11118 was followed by an address on behalf of Nestleton United Church of which Stanley is an Honorary Elder, read by Ralph Sadler and the presentation of a plaque by U.C.W. President President Mrs. Norman Mairs. Stanley made a fitting reply and ably expressed his appreciation appreciation to all. He was delighted delighted to see so many relatives, friends and neighbours present on this happy celebration.
