< / 6 The Canadian Statesman, NESTLETOM CAESAREA by Mabel Cawker At the Official Board Meeting of the Black- stock Pastoral Charge held on Wednesday evening, May 18th, in the Christian Education Centre, Victor Malcolm of Nestleton was presented presented with a book entitled entitled "Psalms - Now" - a modem paraphasing- written by Lèslie Brandt. The gift in recognition recognition of Victor's dedicated dedicated service as Recording Recording Steward of the Pastoral Charge for the past 19 years was beautifully beautifully inscribed and the presentation made by our Minister Rev. Dale Davis. Our "warmest thanks" to Victor for his continuous service during his lengthy tenure in Office. Well done - indeed! A fine group - the Nestleton Presbyterian Ladies' Aid - not many in number but dedicated to the work of the church, met for their May meeting in the church hall with Pres. Dorothy Lee in the chair. After a warm welcome was extended, the meeting was called to order with a poem, a hymn and the Lord's Prayer repeated in unison. The devotions were in charge of Mrs. Winni- fred Davison who read a portion of Daniel, Chapt.4, with commentary commentary and Prayer from "These Days Booklet". As Sec'y-Treas. she also read minutes and correspondence correspondence and gave the financial statement. Correspondence included included notes of appreciation for cards and gifts rec'd. The finished quilt was on display and priced for sale. Members Members decided to rent a table at the Flea Market in June. The roll call was answered with a bible verse or poem. A closing hymn and the Mizpah' Benediction closed the first part of the meeting. Programme consisted of readings by Mesdames M. Dayes, B. McLaughlin, L. Stinson, and W. Davison. A tasty lunch was served by Dorothy Lee and Winni- fred Davison and an informal informal social half hour enjoyed. Norma Wolfe voiced appreciation to all who planned the fine meeting. The regular Wed. evening Caesarea Euchre was enjoyed with the winners as follows: First prize - Doug Thomas -95; Second - Gayle Pelrine- 86. Low - Henry Visser- 43. A1 Cormack had 14 lone hands for the month of May. A good attendance. Congratulations Congratulations to all! Eric and Corinne Attwood enjoyed their stay in Nestleton with daughter Gail and Roger Hiemstra and family, and have now returned to Edmonton. They will return in September September and start work on the cottage which they hope to spend future summers in. Eric was busy in Nestleton tuning pianos, entertaining the neighbours and doing work on the Hiemstra house. We in this area are looking forward to September and perhaps becoming better acquainted with Eric and Corinne Attwood. A very good attendance attendance at the Nestleton Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning. Rev. Fred Swann is doing a series on the book of James - beginning with the first Chapter "The graciousness of Christian Living". 10 a.m. for next Sunday.
