Congratulations to all I This community was deeply saddened on the Friday morning morning passing of Ruth Fisk, the former Ruth Richardson. Mrs. -Fisk had been ill with cancer since Christmas and had spent the past three weeks in Princess Princess Margaret Hospital. She was to be moved to Civic Hospital, Peterborough on the weekend. Burial was on Monday from the Mackey Funeral Home, Lindsay, to Pontypool Cemetery. Sympathy Sympathy is extended to her husband, husband, Bruce, daughters Anne and Marilyn (Mamie), grandchildren grandchildren Karen, Carol and Chris, sister, Madeline Kerr, and all other family members. Mrs. Ada Urry Baum, age 86 years recently passed away in Jensen Beach, Florida. The late Mrs. Baum, the former Ada Rowan of Bethany, had been a school teacher several years ago in this area. She is survived by her family Rhona, Gerald, Russell, Lois and Louis. A brother, Clarence, predeceased his sister last year. A memorial service for the late Mrs. Baum is to be held at a later date in Bethany. Congratulations to Robin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Smith, R. Net proceeds from ticket sales on this quilt are going towards repair of the stained glass window in Pontypool United Church, as are proceeds from the Bake Sale which was held on Sunday afternoon. Donations Donations towards the Restoration Fund of the window have now surmounted $1,000.00. Luella Call attended the 62nd Annual Provincial Conference Conference for Guiders of the Girl Guides of Canada. Luella was a representative of the Woodland Woodland (Manvers) Division. Approximately 1000 delegates from all over Ontario were present. On Saturday, May 28th, the 15th Annual Durham College convocation Ceremonies were held at the Civic Auditorium in Oshawa. Jo-Anne Finney, daughter of Lavern and Marie Finney graduated in Computer Computer Science. Jo-Anne is now employed as a computer programmer programmer with Curfax Benefit Systems Ltd. of Toronto. Kim Sutch, daughter of Dave and Kay Sutch, received a Silver Medal for her academic standing standing in the Applied Arts Course. Other graduates from the Pontypool area were Gail Anness and Christine Timoll. Congratulations to the four graduates! Overnight Sunday visitors with Gerald and Jessie Fisk were Max Fisk and daughter, Diane, of London and Muriel and Rod Penton of Cardiff. Mr. McCullough was in fine fettle and exceptionally sharp, although he said his legs weren't as good as they used to be.
