It was raining outside and my family was sitting in the family room watching T.V. In fact, probably the whole town of Bowmanville was watching it. In the Saturday newspaper the headlines read: Don't Miss Special Report Friday at 7:00! So, anyway we were sitting there watching the special report report when we heard the most astonishing news: Everybody in the town of Bowmanville, which is approximately 15,000 people were to meet at the Bowmanville Mall on Saturday Saturday at 2:30 p.m. All the people would then be divided into three groups - past, present or future. You could choose whichever group you wanted to be in. When the three groups were made, all the people in the group for the past would go back one hundred hundred years in a time machine. All the people in the group for the future would go a hundred years in the future. The group for the present would stay. I thought for a moment. If I went 100 years in the future, who knows what could happen. happen. There could be a nuclear war or there could be terrible pollution. If I went 100 years in the past we'd have to live without many of the things we have now. If I stayed here I'd be able to live in the same house and have all the things I have now. I wouldn't want to go to a school when everybody was in the same school like the pioneers did. Who knows what kind of school you would go to 100 years in the future. I asked my parents which group we were going in and they said they had not decided. decided. I went to bed that night feeling very tired. When I awoke the next morning I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I was lying in a very strange bed ana there were computer things everywhere. Just then my mother came in and she said I had slept through the ride in thetimemachineandwe were now 100 years in the future. Oh, brother I Janet Myers Grade 5 Oshawa Monument Co.
