CLOCA Continues Summer Program C.L.O.C.A.'s 1983 Summer Program continues this week with more nature walks and slide and film presentations. Throughout the summer, nature walks at various local conservation areas will be held on Sunday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Meet us at the Conservation Authority office, 1650 Dundas Street East, Whitby (above Cherney's) or at the area. If you do choose to meet the tour guide at the area, please call the office ahead of time so he knows you're there. On Thursday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m., come to the Authority office for a refreshing excursion excursion to the Waterfront Conservation Conservation Area. We'll be taking a closer look at the Lake Ontario shoreline, and there's no place you'd rather be during this neat wave. If wildflowers "light up your life", why not join us for a wildflower walk on Sunday, July 24,1983. This time, after a 1:00 p.m. rendezvous rendezvous at the Authority office, we will proceed to our largest and wildest conservation area, namely Long Sault. A general nature walk will also be held on Saturday, July 23rd at Heber Down Conservation Area, meeting at the campsite at 7:30 p.m. For those of you who like your "nature" a little less strenuous, slide and film presentations presentations will be run at the Heber Down Conservation Area campsite, Programs start at dusk (9:30 p.m. in July and 9:00 p.m. in August ana September) every Saturday and Tuesday evening. On Saturday, July 23rd, we will discuss how hurricanes, thunderstorms and other extreme extreme weather influence local residents and conservation efforts.
