She, with Mrs. Sharon Buttery, showed us how to make two casseroles - shepherd's pie and sausage spinach pie. These were served for lunch with whole wheat drop biscuits. Afterwards, we discussed our part of the program "More Cents Than Dollars" to be held in Orono Community Centre on November 8th. The monthly meeting of the U.C.W. was held in the Sunday School last Wednesday evening, with vice-president Jean Kimball. Sixteen ladies attended. After the various , reports were given, it was decided to have some windows covered in the spring. Next year's bazaar to be held later in October. Jean Kimball gave a brief account of the meeting she and Rowena Tizzard attended at Westminister, Oshawa, on Monday evening, October 17th. A nominating committee was named to bring in a slate of officers at our November meeting. Some agreed to let their names stand. Eye glasses may be left with Mary Jones. Acy Farrow assisted by Lena Clysdale gave the devotional on Courage. Closed with the Benediction and lunch was served and a social half hour followed. The Presbytery supply Lynda King conducted the services and told the children's story. The sermon "Jesus Christ, Life of the World" was given by Rev. George Lanery from Belleville. Mr. Barry Lane sang two beautiful solos - one being "How Great Thou Art". He also assisted the choir with the anthem, "A new name written down in Glory". We were pleased to see Amelea and Sid Lancaster in the congregation. Rev. A.M. Tizzard has been moved to Bowmanville and is progressing slowly. The Sunday School held a Hallowe'en party during the church services and everyone reported a happy time with games, costumes, followed by a small lunch.
