Four players lit up the board in the second increasing the total to six even though both teams spent time in the penalty penalty box on what could be considered considered very questionable calls. George Pithie scored on a powerplay from Brian Noble only 11 seconds after a Port Hope player was off for high- sticking, then with the teams even at four players each, Glen Campbell, who worked hard all game, scored from Brian Noble and Jamie Downing. Mike Gallant and Chris Shmyr ended the second by each scoring a powerplay goal. Mike stole the puck in the Port Hope end and shot on the short side with an extreme angle but the puck found its way into the net. Mike also assisted on Shmyr's goal. Chris Beck got the hat-trick as he not only started the game off with a goal but finished it off with two more. The first of the two was a powerplay goal from Bob McArthur and Brian Noble and the second was a pretty one to watch as he got a nice lead pass from Larry Perris, split the defense at the Toro blueline, hustled into their territory and took a nice hard shot on the goalie who never even had a chance. Nice going Chris. Sat., Oct. 29th vs. Trenton League - A determined team Dine in the Elegance of the newly renovated D. The Toros led 2 -1 after the first two periods on goals by Brian Noble and Chris Beck each assisting on the other's goal. The Toros went ahead by two on a goal by Glen Campbell Campbell who had the puck behind the net and while attempting to pass the puck out front, hit the goalie in an undetermined spot resulting in the goal. Assists went to Scott Page, Jamie Downing and Port Hope's goalie. Trenton kept the pressure on and finally scored at the 4:11 mark to again come within one but Chris Beck took the wind out of their sails when he potted his second of the game by firing a rebound over the outstretched outstretched goalie. Linemates Noble and Pithie assisted. Glen Campbell put the game out of reach when he scored his second of the game with 1:36 remaining, again on passes from linemates Downing and Page. Both Smith and Webster played steady with special mention to Scott in the third who made several saves until the team got the insurance goals. Sunday, Oct. 30th vs. Belleville Belleville League - Due to an error on their schedules the Toros arrived late at the Belleville arena and could have lost their game by default but the Belleville association agreed to play in spite of the misunderstanding, misunderstanding, although they might have had second thoughts about their decision after losing by a 10 - 2 margin. The Toros outshot their opposition 40 to 13 and capitalized capitalized six times in the first, three times in the second and once in the third. Mike Gallant scored the first and last goals in the first period with John Romano and Scott Page assisting assisting on the first ana Shawn Rekker on the second. Chris Beck added two more, one unassisted and the other on passes from linemates Brian Noble and George Pithie, who each scored one apiece. Noble, Beck and Pithie accounted for all three goals in the second with Chris Beck scoring his third and fourth of the game and George Pithie his second. Brian Noble assisted on two of the three. Beck's fourth was shorthanded. Both teams scored a goal in the third with Mike Gqllant doing the honors for the Toros. Congratulations to Mike on his first hat-trick of the season. Two players Chris Beck and Brian Noble, have already reached the 20 goal plateau, and the team has outscored the opposition 97 to 30 in 13 games to date.
